Dyslexia Assessments
Cheshire. North Wales. Wirral

Full diagnostic dyslexia assessments and reports for individuals aged 7 years to 18

A full diagnostic assessment will identify the strengths and challenges of learners with a specific difficulty.  The report provides next steps in learning along with suggested strategies to support the individual both at home and within the classroom.

For older students, the report will also provide strategies to support independent learning including study skills and consideration of the benefits of assistive technology, if appropriate.

Following a diagnosis of dyslexia, where appropriate, the assessments and report may provide the required evidence to support the need for exam access arrangements such as extra time, use of assistive technology eg. a laptop and use of a human reader and/or scribe.  These adjustments can help someone with dyslexia achieve their full potential.

Where there are overlapping needs e.g., broader coordination difficulties, speech and language, attention control, further steps will also be suggested.

Assessments

Full diagnostic assessments take between 2 and 3 hours and can be done at school on arrangement, or in my home office in Tarvin, Chester. Out of school hours and weekends are available.

Following the assessment you'll receive a full diagnostic report with two weeks. The report follows the most recent professional guidance and can be used to apply for Disabled Students Allowance for those entering Higher Education.

Testimonials

From the start, Rosie guided us through the whole process and put our daughter at ease. The recommendations following the report – and ongoing advice - have been invaluable, identifying areas where we – and the school – can support our daughter. We would have no hesitations in recommending Rosie to anyone who needed an assessment.

Secondary Age - Pre 16 -  parent

Rosie has worked with numerous pupils at St Clares and all children that she has worked with have felt at ease when completing the assessment.

Rosie provides a very thorough report outlining the children's areas of need and provides staff with useful resources and information to best support the child. Rosie also has great tips and advice on how to ensure dyslexia-friendly teaching strategies are used to support dyslexic pupils in our school.

SENCO, Primary School

We contacted Rosie to assess my daughter prior to her A levels. Rosie was brilliant from start to finish. She was very professional but at the same time very approachable. On the day of the assessment, Rosie was able to provide us with verbal feedback and a short while later she produced a very thorough and detailed report. The report has enabled my daughter and school staff to understand how to help her reach her potential and

gave information about exam access recommendations.

It also helped my daughter understand herself more, which gave her a boost of confidence.

The assessment enabled us to apply for DSA when my daughter started university.

We are very grateful to Rosie for her help and guidance.
